The most Popular EFT Questions that many people ask me are:

Do I really need an EFT therapist?

I would advise you to at least try one or two sessions with a practitioner of your own choosing in the first instance, based on who you feel is best suited to help you. This is to simply experience how EFT works, you may then choose to do self treatments or to continue working with an experienced therapist, whichever you feel most comfortable with. It is important to choose your therapist wisely as you will be getting that individual's own experience of how to apply EFT. When EFT is diligently and ethically applied, you should usually be able to measure the results before, during and after each separate tapping round. There may be many times when self treating when you may become stuck for words or may not know how to best proceed. whenever you feel you are making little or no progress, again an experienced therapist will be able to help you back on track. I offer FREE telephone support for all clients to help them get the best from using EFT.

Isn't EFT just the placebo effect?

An interesting question... One can argue that there can be no "placebo" from tapping because according to Gary Craig (the originator of "EFT" tapping) anywhere that you tap on your body will be connected to the energy meridians. This at first appears to be a classical pseudoscientific argument because this statement or theory lacks falsifiability, which means EFT and similarly based therapy cannot be subjected to the realms of modern scientific investigation or validation according to current thinking. One could always argue that any psychotherapy by it's very nature is purely subjective and the main validation comes from each client obtaining the desired individual results.

However all I can personally say from experience is that I have had originally skeptical clients who have still had outstanding results much to their surprise. For a placebo effect to take place, there has to be a belief or expectation beforehand about what is supposed happen and possibly how and when it will happen. Therefore I am presuming that something other than the placebo effect is actually happening at least in such cases where expectations are lacking or where skeptical beliefs are being turned upside down. Perhaps more placebo research ought to be done to find out exactly what happens when a body is able to heal itself based just on the belief system of a patient. This would surely often save on the toxic side effects from the drugs that are being prescribed.

What if I can’t remember how my problem started?

Energy psychology techniques such as EFT, can still get directly to the root of the problem and safely heal the unpleasant feelings or physical reactions. This is because the original unresolved issue is still emotionally resonating and can therefore be treated. EFT is a process that deals with whatever is presenting itself moment by moment during a session. The protocols also automatically deal with psychological reversals, secondary gains and the self sabotaging programs that operate within the unconscious mind.

What if my problem is too painful for me to talk about?

You don’t have to openly discuss the problem, or relive events. A skillful EFT practitioner can take you to a safe vantage point away from the actual issue as you follow the tapping process. The results will be just the same. This is a major advantage over any other method when dealing with extremely personal issues.

Will EFT work on children?

Yes, EFT is just as effective with children as it is with adults, plus it's a great tool for children to use on themselves to clear their emotional upsets thus promoting a healthy, confident and calm attitude towards everyday difficulties.

I have felt this way for a long time, will this still work?

The intensity of a problem or how long it has been there is immaterial to healing it. The moment the EFT tapping process is applied to the emotional area of pain, it gives relief regardless of its age or severity. It is the same principle to removing a troublesome program from a computer, as long as it remains it can crash the system whenever triggered, yet once it's removed it's gone along with all the problems it was causing.

Are there any other benefits?

Yes! once you have learned to apply this simple tapping technique, you then have a gift for life to use as and when you feel the need to. As simple as it seems, it will become the most important self development tool that you’ll ever use because it can be applied to change almost any unwanted aspect of your life, whenever you need it. Further more, the tapping can be done as a purely mental process when dealing with issues that may arise in public places and where you may feel physical tapping to be inappropriate.

What can it be used on?

Tapping techniques such as EFT for example can be used on most issues to bring fast and lasting relief, at the bottom of this page are some of the everyday issues that I have treated clients for.

It can often work where nothing else will.
